What goes into every garden room
Every bespoke garden room is built with quality materials and careful attention to detail, creating a comfortable, durable space designed to be enjoyed all year round.
Planning-friendly height
Garden rooms are generally built below 2.5m in height where possible, helping to avoid the need for planning permission. Planning requirements can vary depending on the property and location, so we can discuss this with you during the design process.
Ground screw foundation
The building sits on a treated timber base frame supported by a ground screw foundation, providing a stable and durable base with minimal disruption to the garden.
Timber frame construction
The external walls are constructed using treated timber framing, finished with OSB3 sheathing and a breathable membrane to provide a robust, weather-resistant structure.
Insulated walls & ceiling
Walls are insulated with a minimum 50mm insulation, with a vapour barrier, plasterboard and skimmed finish. The ceiling is insulated with 100mm insulation and finished with skimmed plasterboard, helping create a comfortable space throughout the year.
Cladding options
Choose from a range of external finishes to create the look you want. Options include natural timber such as Thermo Ayous and Cedar, alongside other contemporary cladding choices.
Roofing & exterior finish
A long-life EPDM rubber roofing system provides a durable, low-maintenance roof. Composite soffit and fascia boards complete the roofline, finished with black guttering for a clean, contemporary look.
Doors & windows
Bi-fold doors are a popular choice, opening the room onto the garden and bringing in plenty of natural light. French doors, sliding doors and additional windows can also be incorporated into the design.
Interior finish
Walls are plaster-boarded and skimmed, with skirting boards fitted as standard. Laminate flooring is a popular choice, although alternative flooring can be installed to suit your requirements.
Electrical installation
Internal sockets, lighting and soffit spotlights are included, with additional sockets and lighting available if required. All electrical work is carried out by a certified electrician in accordance with current regulations.
Internet connectivity
Wired and wireless internet connections can be provided, making your garden room suitable for home working, streaming, gaming or simply staying connected.
